Appendix A
Inheritance template
Here is a template to copy and paste and fill in and give to your heir(s).
[Date]
Dear [heir(s)],
I have left you these instructions for accessing my Bitcoins when I've passed away or become mentally incapacitated.
Please read through this letter completely before taking any action.
Remember, Bitcoin transactions are not reversible and mistakes cannot be fixed. Always, double check receiving addresses when doing a transaction. If someone is helping you they shouldn't be left alone with PINs, passwords or seed phrases because they can use that information to steal the Bitcoins.
Here's the name, phone number and email for friends I trust to help you through the process. Pick one. Please don't leave them alone with any seeds and take your time to consider doing it yourself. Remember how much I value privacy and sovereignty. You don't need to rush.

I have four (4) Bitcoin wallets.
1. My Lightning wallet is on my daily use phone. You need to unlock my phone to access it and move these funds to your Lightning wallet (or onchain wallet).
[Describe how to restore or recover your Lightning wallet using your email or phone if it's custodial]
Here's how you unlock my phone: [I shared a JPEG of my pattern with you on Google Drive] [You know my PIN/Here's my PIN]
You should now have access to my email apps on my phone.
2. My Bluewallet is on my daily use phone. I have a backup seed phrase on a cryptosteel capsule hidden in the house.
[Exactly where it's hidden]
You can restore this seed phrase by adding a new wallet inside the Bluewallet you already have on your phone. You can get Bluewallet at bluewallet.io or the Play store or App store from developer Bluewallet Services S. R. L.
3. My Bluewallet on a special phone hidden at home. I also have a backup seed phrase on a cryptosteel capsule hidden at home.
[Exactly where the phone is hidden]
[Exactly where the capsule is hidden]
Here's how you unlock my special phone: [I shared a JPEG of my pattern with you on Google Drive] [You know my PIN/Here's my PIN]
You can restore this seed phrase by adding a new wallet inside the Bluewallet on a new phone you bought at a store. This wallet has a life changing amount in it and please don't use your daily phone with this seed phrase. Don't put a sim on this new phone, use the default keyboard, don't setup your regular email. Make a burner email if you have to. No chat apps.
4. My Bluewallet 2 of 2 Vault is my most secure cold storage wallet where you should find the vast majority of my funds. It requires two Bitcoin seed phrases to sign a transaction to spend the bitcoins. I call these seed A and seed B. I've already setup this wallet on two phones. Phone A (with seed A) and Phone B (with seed B).
Phone A is hidden at home. It's the special phone from wallet #3 mentioned above.
In case you don't find phone A, I have 2 backups of seed A.
Backup 1 of seed A is hidden at [specify location].
Backup 2 of seed A is hidden at [specify location].
Phone B is hidden [specify location].
Here's how you unlock my phone B: [I shared a JPEG of my pattern with you on Google Drive] [You know my PIN/Here's my PIN] [My family member F1 fingerprint/face]
In case you don't find phone B or cannot unlock it, I have 2 backups of seed B.
Backup 1 of seed B is hidden at [specify location].
Backup 2 of seed B is hidden at [specify location].
Watch this YouTube video from BTC Sessions (https://youtu.be/RJ7W2NpLRiQ) to learn how to setup, receive and spend with a 2 of 2 multisig Bluewallet.
Also, I've used the following Bitcoin exchanges:
- [Name of exchange] [URL] [Email associated] [password] [2FA token]
- [Name of exchange] [URL] [Email associated] [password] [2FA token]
- [Name of exchange] [URL] [Email associated] [password] [2FA token]
You may need my email access to login as well.
[Here's how you access my email account: The username is xyz, the password is abc, the 2FA is available at def]
If you need to sell Bitcoin to US dollars, I recommend you set up your own account rather than use my exchange account.
[I hereby grant you power of attorney to access my Bitcoin exchange accounts should I die or be mentally incapacitated. You have my permission to withdraw any crypto from the exchange to self-custody. It's unlikely they will let you withdraw fiat USD via the banking system from my account.]
[If you have any altcoins then sell them for Bitcoin or document those wallets here]
With love,
[Your name and/or signature]
